My name is Charles Steinbach, and I was born with chronic paranoid schizophrenia. I made a split-second, conscious decision over twenty years ago to be the best schizophrenic I could be, and now, I am.
I want to share my story with as many people as possible so that children who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia will know that many things, great things, are possible in their futures.
By sharing my story, I have changed many lives and brought a different understanding of mental illness to people. I live successfully in the schizophrenic world and in the world that we all share, and I would be happy to speak to your organization about my experiences in both worlds.
I am available to speak to your organization about mental illnesses, my experience with schizophrenia, dealing with diversity in the workplace, life struggles and the work-life balance, and many other topics.
I have spoken to doctors, lawyers, judges, college students, university administrators, police officers, business people, family members, and real estate management employees; I've been sharing my story since 1999. I have authored five nonfiction books and one children's book, had a documentary film made about my life, and have appeared on Bipolar Nation Radio with Susan Schofield.
There is hope for families, individuals, and organizations affected by schizophrenia. I successfully live in both the schizophrenic world and the world we all share, and I look forward to sharing my insights with you.
