I am still accepting entries of poetry, fiction, essays, drawings (black & white artwork only - sorry! - you can submit color, but work can only be printed in black and white), and other artwork for a book on the topic of mental illness and mental health.
Please email your entries to email@example.com. All entries should be formatted for an 8.5x11" letter-size Word document or 8.5x11" PDF.
I am also seeking full-color artwork for the cover of the anthology; this should be two pieces, each 8.5x11", to cover the front and back of the book. If you would like to submit a cover design for consideration, please contact me for further details on how to submit your work.
How to format your email:
SUBJECT LINE should read "Anthology entry - poetry" or similar.
CONTACT INFO should include name, age if under 18, method by which you would like to be contacted, and any instructions on how to print (or not print) your name with your artwork in the anthology.
BODY OF EMAIL should copy and paste the following text: "I understand that my work will be printed in an anthology of artwork on mental illness and mental health. I will receive no royalties or other compensation for my work, but I will retain copyrights to this work. I hereby authorize its use in this anthology."
ENTRIES THAT DO NOT INCLUDE THIS TEXT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR PUBLICATION.
FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS, also include the following message, signed by a parent or legal guardian: "I give permission for [Child's Name]'s work to be published in an anthology of artwork on mental illness and mental health. I understand that neither my child nor I will receive royalties or compensation for the publication or submission of this work. My child will retain copyrights to his/her work. I hereby authorize the use of my child's work in this anthology."
ENTRIES BY MINORS THAT DO NOT INCLUDE THIS TEXT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR PUBLICATION.
Entries will be accepted until September 15, 2014.
